Dr. Kinneil Coltman
Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion for Carolinas HealthCare System
Dr. Kinneil Coltman, DHA, has been appointed Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion for Carolinas HealthCare System, where she is responsible for leading the organization’s diversity and inclusion strategy and developing a health equity agenda. The mission of Carolinas HealthCare System, headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, is to “improve health, elevate hope and advance healing – for all.”
Prior to her appointment at CHS, Dr. Coltman held dual appointments as Chief Diversity Officer for Greenville Health System, South Carolina’s largest healthcare provider, and the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville. She has served as Vice-Chair of the American Leadership Council, an advisory body for the American Hospital Association’s Institute for Diversity in Health Management, as well as faculty for the Institute’s Fellowship in Diversity Management in Health Care. Dr. Coltman also has held leadership roles in numerous non-profit boards in the southeast, including the Urban League and the YWCA.
Dr. Coltman holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Asheville, a Masters in Cross Cultural Studies from the University of Houston – Clear Lake, and a Doctorate of Health Administration from the Medical University of South Carolina.
Dr. Coltman is a 2006-2007 Fellow in the Health Research and Educational Trust’s Cross Cultural Leadership Fellowship, sponsored by the American Hospital Association. Her research interests include diversity in leadership and interventions to promote equity within healthcare systems, and she has lectured across the United States on these topics
