SY PUGH, CLF®

Chief Operating Officer

Sy is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of Worth Financial Advisory Group, which includes client services, office and system efficiency, and talent development. A former college basketball player and coach, he oversees the Coach NetWorth financial platform for college basketball coaches and has over 20 years of experience in behavioral health services, including private practice and leadership in the medical, human services, and educational settings. Sy also provides oversight of Worth’s philanthropic arm: The Financial Shepherd Foundation.


Originally from Memphis, TN, Sy earned an Associates in Applied Science from Northern Oklahoma College and a Bachelors in Social Work from Limestone College, while playing basketball at both respective schools. He also earned a Masters in Counseling from Winthrop University. He is a Chartered Leadership Fellow® through the American College, a leadership designation specifically for financial services professionals.


He co-authored The Financial Shepherd: Why Dollars + Change= Sense, a christian based financial planning guide for effective money management that ultimately leads to financial recovery and financial freedom. As a licensed clinical mental health counselor (LMHC), his experience includes working with individual clients, families, and married couples facing financial difficulties as a result of unforeseen circumstances and/or ineffective decision making skills.


Sy is married to his lovely bride of 20+ years, Nichole, and they have two children- Sydney & Nicholes. He is an active member of his church and loves serving the Charlotte community and the families that make up the community in various capacities. He subscribes to the mottos of “Love your neighbor as yourself” and “honorable ACHIEVEMENT in every field of human endeavor”. He is a diehard fan of the Carolina Panthers and the Charlotte Hornets.
